TEA, S.D. - The pilot of a single-engine airplane has died in a crash east of the Lincoln County airport in Tea.
Terry Anderson of the Lincoln County sheriff's office says the plane took off from the airport about 8 p.m. Friday and soon experienced engine trouble. It crashed into a cornfield about a half mile away.
Anderson says the man piloting the plane died in the crash. His name has not been released. No one else was on board.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.
