Storm clouds bring heavy rain and hail Tuesday afternoon

STURGIS, S.D. - It was another round of severe weather around the Black Hills area Tuesday afternoon with heavy rain, gusty wind and large hail.

Heavy rain fell in a wide area of Lawrence, Butte and Meade Counties. In Sturgis, large hail missed the downtown corridor, but heavy rain fell.

just over an inch of rain was reported near Saint Onge and a two-inch rain report came in Weston County in northeast Wyoming.

One-inch hail was reported in Spearfish Tuesday afternoon and one-and-a-quarter inch hail was reported near Jewel Cave.

A tornado warning was issued south of Custer Tuesday afternoon after radar detected rotation. There was no immediate reports of damage.
