BHSU men and women’s basketball gets big RMAC Tournament wins

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Black Hills State men’s basketball earned a first-round victory over the No. 6 seeded Fort Lewis, 75-67 Tuesday night at the Donald E. Young Center.

The Yellow Jackets will move on to the RMAC Tournament semifinal round, which will be held in Grand Junction, Colo., to face Colorado Mines.

Joel Scott put up 30 points and 11 rebounds on the night to earn his second double-double of the season, and sixth of his career.

Kevin Senghore-Peterson tallied 16 points to go with six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Black Hills State women’s basketball puts together huge upset in Salt Lake City Tuesday night defeating the #2 seeded Griffins, 71-66.

The Yellow Jackets did their best shooting of the season when they needed it most against the Westminster Griffins Tuesday night to open RMAC tournament play. BHSU shot 45.8% from the field in the contest led by senior guard Racquel Wientjes and sophomore guard Megan Engesser who each recorded double digit scoring nights.
