Deadwood Gaming Revenues Up in October

DEADWOOD, S.D. – According to statistics released today by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, Deadwood’s October 2022 gaming handle was up 6.76 percent over October of 2021, with slot machine handle increasing by 7.67 percent, when compared to October of 2021. The table game handle decreased by 5.96 percent when compared to 2021 October’s table game handle. Deadwood’s sports wagering handle was up 5.78 percent when compared to October 2021. Deadwood gaming operators rewarded players with $1,449,558 in “free-play” for the month of October, leaving taxable adjusted gross revenues of $12,070,204 for October of 2022.

“We are pleased to see that October again pushed year-to-date numbers over last year’s record-breaking revenue,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “We are thankful to Deadwood’s visitors for their resiliency in keeping Deadwood their favorite entertainment destination.”

October sports wagering again saw the NFL and NCAA football as the most popular betting options.
