Department of Health reports 262 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday

PIERRE, S.D. – The State Department of Health reported 262 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday with 69 of them considered as probable.

The number of active cases was up by 14 Tuesday to 2,439 and the number of people hospitalized increased by 10 to 106.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,947.

New cases across the Black Hills area totaled 33 with Pennington County accounting for the most with 24. The total number of cases in Pennington County hit 13,400 today with 154 cases remaining active.

Lawrence County added two new cases, as did Oglala Lakota County.

Other new cases across the Black Hills included 3 in Custer County and one each in Butte and Fall River.
