Friday’s COVID-19 Report – 513 new cases; two new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – Health officials reported 513 new COVID-19 cases Friday with 118 of those considered as probable.

Active cases increased nearly 100 to 7,512. The number of people hospitalized due to the virus was 247.

Two new deaths were reported Friday, sending the state’s death toll to 2,357. The new deaths were listed out of Brown and Brule Counties.

Pennington County reported 46 new cases today, of which, 8 were considered as probable.

Both Lawrence and Meade County had a probable case as well as 17 and 16 confirmed cases respectively.

Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County added 14 new cases today, Butte County reported 8, Fall River County had 7, Custer County showed 4 probable and Harding County added one new case.
