New study finds South Dakota has the fifth least expensive groceries in the nation

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — While grocery prices have increased, there’s good news if you’re a South Dakotan.

A new study says South Dakotans spend the fifth least on groceries in the nation.

The analysis by Filterbuy found that per capita annual grocery spending in South Dakota amounts to $3,138, compared to the national average of $3,480.

South Dakota residents allocate 7.5% of all household spending on groceries.
