Northern Hills Hospice Ball goes virtual with Silent Auction
STURGIS, SD – End of life is never easy to talk about. Or think about. Or experience.
Twenty-four years ago, a group of courageous, forward-thinking volunteers began the first of what is now known as hospice care in the Black Hills. Their journey and those of the thousands of patients, families and friends who have abided in their care is celebrated every year at the annual Northern Hills Hospice Ball.
This year marks a new adventure. The event is virtual, says Michelle Loobey-Gertsch, Development Officer for Monument Health Foundation.
Virtual bidding for the Northern Hills Hospice Ball Virtual Silent Auction is open and runs through March 27th. You will have the opportunity to bid on your favorite items until 9:00 p.m., (mt) on Saturday, when bidding will close. The Ball in the Box item is proving to be very popular and is filled with a delightful array of delicious gourmet goodies and other assorted items. Auction items are also plentiful and varied.
The Northern Hills Hospice Ball Virtual Event site is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Registration is needed to purchase the selections available for this year’s fundraiser that last year raised over $47,000 for Northern Hills hospice needs.
For those who hosted a table in the past, an option is to purchase several Ball in the Boxes to share with friends, family and co-workers. Looby-Gertsch encourages people to sign up and support Northern Hills Hospice. Through the years, she says, the program has touched so many people and will continue to serve with the support from others.
