Scoopers Eisenbraun, Long win events at West River AA Preview Saturday

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Mild and sunny conditions greeted athletes from around the area at the West River AA Preview Track and Field Meet at Sioux Park in Rapid City Saturday.

In boys events:

Jaden Guthmiller of Spearfish captured both the 100 and 200-meters in times of 11.25 and 22.61 respectively.

In the 400 meters, Bridger Roberdeau of Spearfish captured first place and Matthew Werner of Rapid City Stevens won the 800 meters. Peyton Cast of Douglas won the 1,600 meters and Simeon Birnbaum of Stevens won the 3,200 meters.

In the hurdles, Brodie Eisenbraun of Sturgis was a double-winner as he won both the 110 and 300 meters. His teammate, Aiden Hedderman, came in second in the 300.

Sturgis also captured the title in the 4×400 meter relay. The winning quartet consisted of Trevor Christman, Brodie Eisenbraun, Ridge Inhofer and Traeton Monahan.

In field events, Liam Porter of Rapid City Central won the shot put, Jason Maciejczak of Douglas won the discus, Alex Trohkimoinen of Stevens won the high jump, Julian Swallow of Central won the long jump and triple jump.

In girls events:

Isabelle Hardmeyer of Rapid City Central was a double winner, capturing both the 100 and 200 meters.

Carsyn Mettler of Rapid City Stevens won the 400 and Novali Dinkins of Sturgis captured first place in the 800 meters.

Hailey Uhre of Rapid City Stevens won the 1,600 meters.

In the hurdles, Baylee Van Zee won the 110 meters while Anna Hoffman of Spearfish captured the 300 meters.

Rapid City Stevens won the 4×400 meter relay, finished 4 seconds ahead of Sturgis in second place.

In field events, Lexi Long of Sturgis won the shot put, with a throw of 33-01.00. Ella Peterson of Rapid City Stevens won the discus.

Winning both the high jump and triple jump was Megan Baloun of Stevens and her teammate Claire Fiero won the long jump. Novali Dinkins and Sawyer Dennis of Sturgis finished in second and third respectively in the triple jump.
