South Dakota native taking over Washington Husky Football

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A South Dakota native is taking over the reins of the Washington Huskies football team.

Kalen DeBoer is moving from his current spot at Fresno State to take over the Huskies, which has just wrapped up one of its worst years under former head coach Jimmy Lake.

DeBoer is from Milbank and coached the University of Sioux Falls from 2005 to 2009. At Sioux Falls, his teams won three NAIA Football National Championships, in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

DeBoer also played for USF. After graduating from the University of Sioux Falls, DeBoer served as an assistant coach at Washington High School.
