Spearfish man pleads not guilty to various meth charges

DEADWOOD, S.D. — A Spearfish man has pleaded not guilty to various meth-related charges in Lawrence County.

Jesse James K. Houston, 49, of Spearfish was indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury July 28 and charged with distribution of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony.

Houston is a repeat offender, after having been convicted of being in possession of a controlled substance in 2007.

Houston could face prison time and fines if convicted.

He is currently free on bond and is due back in court Dec. 14 for a status hearing.
