STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Police released their final tally of arrests and violations from this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The report showed 63 D-U-I arrests – up over last year’s 57, and 35 felony drug arrests – up from 20 last year.
Illegal parking remained a problem for police. This year, police handed out 159 parking citations. That is three more than last year.
Misdemeanor drug arrests totaled 71 this year and there were 10 underage consumption of alcohol citations.
Other totals include 7 assaulta, 3 disorderly conduct, 19 driver license violation, 14 driving under suspension or revocation and 12 open container in vehicle.
In all, there were 161 non-traffic arrests, 184 traffic arrests and 130 people were booked into the Meade County jail.
